The high-quality shiplap cladding uses a sturdy tongue and groove structure to give you a durable yet pretty outer wall, which can also be upgraded to pine logs for improved insulation, sound proofing, and aesthetics. The floor and roof of the playhouse are also constructed from tongue and groove cladding, making the playhouse more water resistant for extended enjoyment. The single door has a traditional look, with a diamond porthole window and classic fixings, and the playhouse also comes with two window boxes as standard, for that extra touch of charm.
All our playhouses are fitted with safety hinges, meaning the door and single opening window are made to keep little fingers safe. All the windows in this playhouse are glazed with environmentally-friendly shatter resistant styrene, a safer alternative to glass. All Shire playhouses are supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a golden brown water-based industrial product, but will not be pre-painted, giving you a blank canvas to tailor to the children’s desires. The manufacturer recommends applying a water-based top coat of your choice, preventing the timber from weathering and therefore making the playhouse last longer.
The Shire Cottage Playhouse is supplied flat-packed for ease of handling and assembly. All fittings and felt are included in the price, with clear, easy-to-follow instructions, though you can choose to add assembly if desired.
Please note: Due to the high quality of this playhouse, it is a fairly large structure, meaning it will not be able to fit through a house. Please ensure you have access available round a side passage or alternative access to the desired area where you intend to build it. Delivery will be kerbside unless assembly is chosen.
